Flavor, Health & Compassion
How it began
As American families embraced processed foods in the 1960's, my grandfather wisely resisted the trend. He saw food as medicine, and felt one needed to eat natural foods to be healthy. He taught me to appreciate the taste of natural ingredients, and showed me how to use whole spices to complement their flavor.
In 2012, after completing a yoga instructor course, I struggled to find clean gluten free snack options. Around that time my dad was also diagnosed with cancer. I began roasting nuts with spices like turmeric, cumin, and black pepper to create a healthy snack for us. I shared these with my community and quickly came to appreciate the need for wholesome snacks that was healthy and delicious.
Inspired, I started a small business and named it after my grandfather in memory of his lifelong passion for healthy eating, and for helping others. His name was Isadore.
